    Having trouble making friends
It's almost the end of grade ten. I've only got one good friend, but I feel that we're only friends because we have most of our classes together. I've been trying to make new friends, but it's just not working for me! I feel that people wouldn't even care if I'm around or not. No one considers me as their best friend, but if none of their friends are around then they'll come to me. My best friend is pretty much the same as me, and our personalities are similar. I pay attention to how people treat me, and how they treat her. If she gets hurt, a good amount of people will make sure she's all right. But if I get hurt, one or two people will ask. People actually want to be her friend, but not mine. I am almost positive that this is because she has more money. She goes shopping like every weekend and gets nice things and people compliment her on them. I would be considered poor next to her. I know that people shouldn't judge you by the things that you have, but they do. Because lets face it, a lot of people don't want to be friends with a poor looking girl. It sucks, but it's reality. All I want to know is how to make more friends. I've tried being interested in things other people like, talking to them, pretty much everything. It doesn't work. I'm hoping to get a job this summer, which means more money, better stuff, more friends! I have faith, but please help if you can by answering :) thanks!

People who like you based on money or what you have are not really friends, so if you think your getting a job and having money is going to help you in that area, you may have people talk to you but they won't be your friends. You have one good friend who seems to like you regardless, that is good. Hang in there, be yourself, don't try to impress people with money or being someone you're not. The people who like you will do so because of who you are.
