Had leak at base of tub drain extension. Cracked at elbow which then had another straight piece to a 2nd elbow that went into bottom of an old drum trap(circa 1940's) . Drum trap then emptied out top into what appears to be a 1 1/2 or 2 inch pipe. That pipe angles over into main cast iron drain...

So I am finishing the installation of a new vanity and am stuck on the last step. The new Facuet has a 1-1/4" drain pipe, which becuase the new vanity is higher, ends about 3" above the previousily installed PC trap. The drain is also about 1" off center. I went to Home Depot and got a 1-1/2"...

I just installed my new vanity top without any trouble. When I went to re-connect the pipes under the sink, I encountered a problem. For some reason (the new sink is basically in the same position as the old one was), the trap doesn't fit now. It's about 1/2 inch away from the pipe that drains into...
