Is this just settling of the house or a serious foundation problem?
My house was built in 1950 and I bought it 4 years ago. We have a partial basement of poured concrete and a partial crawl space. Lately, I have noticed the floors creaking where they weren't before. There are also cracks above 2 doors and 1 window. One of my doors starting sticking to the point where we had to shave the bottom of the door (the wood floor below it seems to have buckled in a spot causing it to stick). There are no cracks in the foundation that I am aware of.

Is this just the house settling or a serious foundation problem?

It should have settled before now... however with the drought.. (I'm guessing you might be in an affected area)... there could be foundation problems.

I think it might be expediant to hire someone to come check it out... so you either get a clean bill of health... or find a problem before damage becomes more serious.

What about beams, sills, and joists, all around the entire basement?
