    Grace period for rent
    My parents rent in nj they are senior citizens do they get a 5 day grsace period by law to pay rent before late fee is charged?

    Not by law. But, if the lease says so, then they do.

    Sorry, Excon, but you're wrong.

    To the OP:

    According to NJ law, if a person is a senior citizen and receives a Social Security check then they are entitled to a 5 day grace period to pay rent if their rent is due on the first of the month.

    Excon, you should have known that NJ LL/T law is "different" and Lisa knows about those differences. :)
