    Sludge in basement drain..
    Can you rent a power jetter and try yourself first.. it is a lot of money to have them do it... already tried snake and had sewer pumped

    Sure you could try... but I look at it this way... unless you are really confident you know all the techniques to use... you might end up renting one... doing it yourself... incorrectly... and still have to pay them what they want to do it.

    Is the risk of increasing that total cost worth taking a chance yourself first? To some it might.. to others it might not.
