    Dog ate chicken bones!!
Hello. My Brindle Boxer Eva ate chicken bones Feb 8th. She has had no behavioral issues and I have not seen an issues with her urine or stool. When I got home today (March 7) there was a small amount of emesis on the floor consisted of what looked like old bone that was very hard with some blood tinged sputum. Still no behavioral issues. I am extremely worried. What should I do? Thank you so much.

Just the fact that there was blood in the vomit would worry me imensly. I think you should get her to the vet as soon as possible. Something could have been punctured on the way down, or through her. Is there any blood in her stool yet?

Considering that she ate chicken ones over a month ago with no symptoms of pain, discomfort, illness and so on, I would guess that this is completely unrelated to the fact she ate chicken bones.

When in doubt, you should always speak with your vet. Just because it's unlikely that this is the same chicken bones that were eaten about a month ago, doesn't mean that it's not possible.

Get her in first thing tomorrow. Don't give her any water or food.. If there is an obstruction and she is nauseous, giving her food and water will only make the likeliness of her wanting to vomit greater and causing the possible problem worse.

If this were my dog, I would be knocking on the vets door tomorrow morning when they open. Making a big deal over a small problem is much better than waiting for this to become a big, expensive, life-threatening issue.
