I have a spring 200' from my house. The spring is also 30' lower than the house. The water tank and pump are at the spring. I have low water pressure in the house. How can I increase water pressure in the house?

What is the pressure reading on the tank pressure gauge? At what pressure is the pump pressure switch set to turn the pump on?

The 60 should be good. The 30 is low and I imagine that when it gets down to that point, you are not happy with the pressure.

It's a little unusual to have a 30# interval. To raise the 30 to 40, which would be wise, you will first find the pressure switch. It's a little grey box with wires coming out and going to the pump. It will be attached to the pipe near the pressure tank. Turn off the power, then remove the little grey cover. You should see two nuts, one large in the center and one small. Turn the large one a couple of turns clockwise. Turn the power back and cycle the system to see what your cutoff/cuton points are now. Keep adjusting until you get the cuton pressure to 40. Now you will see that you have also raised the cut off pressure, probably to around 70. This is where the smaller nut comes in. Turn it CCW a couple of turns with the power off. Turn it back on and cycle the system again. It's kind of trial and error. The large nut will raise or lower BOTH cut points, while the small nut will raise/lower the cut off point only. Bear in mind that, with the pressure tank 30' or so lower than the house, you are losing 0.4# of pressure for each foot of rise, so that's about 12# of pressure "gone" just getting water to your house. The 200' of run also costs a little pressure though probably not much.

Assuming you have no filter or water softener on your system. Also assuming you have run at least 3/4" pipe to the house from the tank.

I have tried increasing the pressure as you described (good directions btw). It doesn't help that much. I would like to install a separate water tank, with a pump and/or booster. I don't know how unless I'm over thinking this and should just put a "new" system in series in the house. If I leave the pump and tank in the spring house alone and use it to feed a "new installed system", will that work?

You might simply want to try adding a booster pump. This site can be a good place to start, but you can find less expensive ones.

What size pipe between the pump and the house? Could you be having a volume problem rather than a pressure problem?

What type of tank and how large do you have at the well house?
