My boyfriend will turn 18 next month and I will turn 15. Will it get us in trouble?
I have been dating this guy off and on the past seven years and his family loves me and my family loves him. He will be 18 next month. Can we get in trouble for being together?

My mom keeps saying she will get him arrested but her and my step dad are 6/7 years apart and we are 3 years and 2 months apart.

You've been dating this guy since you were 8?

and his family loves me and my family loves him
but my mom keeps saying she get him arrested
This doesn't make sense. They love him, but they're going to get him arrested?

Your mom and dad are adults. A few years, even ten or more, when you're an adult, doesn't matter. You're not an adult, you're 15. Your boyfriend is an adult. So a few years age difference, at your age, is a huge deal.

He can be arrested for parental interference, since your parents, according to you, don't want you two dating. If there is anything sexual going on (even kissing) he can be arrested for statutory rape, or grooming a minor.

So to answer your question, yes, he can get into trouble, and that trouble can include time in jail, and being labelled a sexual predator (he'll have to register as such) for the rest of his life.

Why not wait until you're an adult to be together?

Your mom can make all kinds of trouble for him. She is the law because she is responsible for you, her minor child. Heed her warnings and take it seriously.

There are 2 very major contradictions in your post that bring the whole situation into question. First you state that you have been dating on and off for 7 years. That means you started dating at 8 which is very hard to believe. Second, you say your family loves him, but your mom wants to get him arrested.

So trying telling us the real story so we can suggest things.

But the bottom line is your parents make the rules. If they don't want you dating him, they can make trouble for him. And, at 15 you are under the age of consent when it comes to sexual activity.
