Can I Sue Roommate For Moving Expenses?
Hello... Recently my roommate decided to break the lease and move out early. Because I cannot pay her portion of the rent as well I am being forced to find a new place to live. Can I sue my roommate for my moving expenses because she broke the lease forcing me to move when I had no intention of doing so?

    Thanks

You can sue anybody for anything; whether you'll win is the issue. I would keep it in small claims (under $5000), if you have good evidence to support that your roomie caused you damages, go for it.

    Hello I brake:

You better wait until you see how much you're going to owe the landlord after he sues you. Once that's determined, you can sue your old roomy for her half. Moving expenses?? Nahh. You would have had to pay those anyway at the end of your lease.
