It seems fishy to me too. But, it doesn't necessarily mean what you think it means.

We girls are always looking for signs to tell us what men really mean. Men, they're men, they usually say exactly what they mean. So, if he wanted to get back together with you, it's likely that he'd just tell you.

Is he acting a bit jealous? Well, yes, but only a very little bit. Not enough that I'd say he wants you back. More like a guy that doesn't want you, but doesn't really want anyone else to have you either. That's not love.

But, this is just my guess. Again, I have no idea what he's thinking. Only he knows that.
