I do not know of any states in the US where a 16 year old can move out of her parent's home without parental consent. I do not know of any states where an adult man can have sexual relations legally with a 16 year old, either.

What's the rush? Is your home life abusive or something?

So the answer that you're looking for is pretty much, no you can't and yes she can.

Tempting though it is to just agree with the first 2 responses, they are not accurate.
Go to wikipedia and read all about 'age of consent' and 'emancipation.'
You will see that laws vary by where you live, and emancipation is complicated.
If you can't sort it all out, I don't feel inclined to help. It would mean to me that you are far from being ready to leave home. I doubt that you have ANY CLUE what it is like to be away from home.

Any question about law needs to include your general location as laws vary by area. Yes Emancipation is a possibility in some areas, but getting emancipated is very difficult and I very much doubt that a court will emancipate you so you can move in with your 19 yr old boyfriend.

So unless you can get emancipated (highly unlikely) your parents will need to consent to your moving out of the house. Therefore, they can call the cops. And depending on local age of consent laws he could be jailed as a sex offender.

In fact, if you have started a sexual relationship now, he could be in serious trouble.

The ability to have sex and the ability to move in with boyfriend are too different things.

You will have to be 18 to move out of parents home, if you move out before 18, they may call the police and have boyfriend arrested for interfering with their custody of you.
So even if sex is legal, ( and it may not be) moving out is not legal.

Actually I had first hand experience in my town of a girl who was able to claim emancipation with no trouble at all and no trouble at home, but I'm not going to say how. It should be obvious to responders here.

Can you tell us why you don't want to just remain at home until you're of age, and wait to live with a man until you're married? Why are you in a hurry to do this now?
