    How to figure declared dividends
    Declared cash dividends are .8 preferred and .11 common I thought that u would multiply by the outstanding stock but it is not coming out with my check figures

    Preferred stock issued is48000 at 2% authorized is 50000
    Common is 900000 authorized is 100000

If a company lists a debit to dividends declared on their trial balance as an expense , how would this effect stockholders equity at period end? I do not think it would not be an adjusting entry to remove from expenses, but a reclassification entry but I am unsure of what entry to make:confused:
