Not sure if doctor is understanding specific concern
This might be an odd inquiry, but I'm going to do my very best to explain it in detail, because I really just want to know what's going on:

I am almost 9 weeks pregnant, and saw my doctor for the first time a couple of days ago. My cervix felt really low, firm, and open, and hasn't changed this whole time. I asked my doctor about it, and she said my cervix looks fine but I have a tilted uterus. This does explain the position, as well as my back pain and frequent urination. I know she said it was fine, but really, it still feels firm and open to me. Like finger tip width open... though almost like it's closed further up, because I can also feel a bigger, tight "muscle" that's a bit farther up from my cervix, right on the actual vaginal wall... if that makes any sense. I'm worried because this is my second pregnancy, and my first, two years ago, ended at 7 weeks - my hcg levels were really low.

So, is this normal for a tilted uterus? I'm worried about incompetent cervix, because every other aspect of this pregnancy seems fine: no bleeding or spotting, only mild menstrual-type cramping on occasion, and I've been so sick, unlike my first pregnancy. My baby has a good heart rate and lots of amniotic fluid. Any reassurance?

If for ANY reason, this included, you don't believe/trust your Physician you either need a second opinion or another Physician. I would not continue with someone I question.

I would guess that someone who went to Med School has a better understanding of a tipped uterus, etc. than you do - but I also know Doctors make mistakes.

I'd go with my gut feeing and get a second opinion.
