If I were going to make my contraption I would modify its design slightly.

For the "dog" or locking device I would use a brass swing check valve in the 2" PVC.
Take the check valve apart and cut a flat side on the flapper. The distance between the wall of the check valve and the flapper should be slightly less than the diameter of the well pipe. You want to cut away as much of the flapper as possible and still have it bind against the pipe.

Securely attach a rope or a cable to the check valve.

The funnel should guide the well pipe into the 2" PVC and through the check valve. When you pull up on the rope the check valve flapper should bind against the well pipe and lock onto it. Of course the flow direction arrow on the check valve should point up. When purchasing the check valve make sure that the well pipe (and the fitting if there is one on the well pipe) will pass through the check valve. A 2" check valve should be large enough for a 3/4 or 1" well pipe.

If you are able to connect to the well pipe, your pump is probably buried in the mud at the bottom of the well. Rent an engine hoist, use it to pull the pump out of the mud.
