How do I repair an old cast iron pipe that is corroded looking in the shower?
How do I repair an old cast iron pipe that is corroded looking in the shower Drain? The shower is about 100 years old and the stall is an enameled metal enclosure. The floor is concrete, but someone painted it with something black (unknown) I tried to use a wire brush to clean it so that I can use the garage floor type of epoxy that is waterproof to refinish the floor, but I am concerned about the drain and if the epoxy is the best and least expensive alternative. Also the door opening to the shower, the concrete has disintergrated. I want to repair that as well. I have removed all the crumbling concrete. Any suggestion. I have owned this condo for 10 years, and this is the 2nd bath. I have NEVER used it for fear that it would leak to the unit below. Help as I may want to sell the unit in the next year or so. I also read about e-pipping on your site, but can't seem to find anyone in the Chicago area to see if it is possible to do that in just my unit. The company listed in Dixon IL. Does not do e-pipping.
Sorry for the length of this, I really need to get this repaired. I can take pictures to show if that would help. I did have a plumber out and they want to totally redo the shower for $$$$$. Thanks for all your help.
