Menstrual heavy bleeding

My mom has been on yaz . But for the past 2 or 1.5 weeks been having heavy menstrual bleeding and clots and is feeling tired? The internet says yaz can cause this. Should she continue with yaz. What if she gets a clot in her leg or a PE. Please shed some light. Should she consult her gynae on Monday.
