    Double Outlet
On a double outlet. You have two brass screws, two silver screws and a green ground screw. Coming out of the outlet you just have two wires a hot and a neutral. If you just wire the top set of screws will it give power to the lower
Outlet . Or do you have to pigtail to the lower screws

Wire your hot to a bress screw and netural to the silver screw. You only need to use one on each side unless the jumpers are broken.

To clarify, the jumpers are a small piece of metal that connects between both of the brass and silver screws.

These jumpers are there for removal for different purposes, such as having one power source to one half of the duplex receptacle for 24 hour power, and the other could be switched.
