Shower help - water not hot enough
Hello, I wondered if anyone can help... I've just moved into my house and can't seem to get the shower water to run hot. It was hot the first 2-3 times I used it but now will only run luke warm.

The shower is upstairs and has good pressure. It's a victorian style suite with a handle that moves anti clockwise to turn the water on and then a tap that turns clockwise for hot, anti clockwise for cold. I have the tap turned all the way hot and the only way I can get the water at a nice hot temperature is to flush the toilet. I've tried varying the water pressure to the shower with the handle and turning the tap the other way but nothing works.

I've noticed also that the bath water doesn't seem to run as hot as the sink taps down stairs either. We have a combi boiler and it's not possible to increase the water temperature as it is set to 55 degrees regardless. I get really hot water down stairs but can't understand why I don't get the same upstairs? The boiler pressure is fine, all the water pressure out of the taps is fine.

I've tried to rack my brains to think what's changed that could have affected the shower temperature. All I can think of is the weather has got colder, the washing machine was fitted and I increased the boiler water pressure as it was in the red. Could any of this have impacted?

Is there anything I could do or anything a plumber could do to fix this problem without changing the shower or the boiler?

    Thank you
