Husband adopt my son
The baby's biological father left me during the early stages of my pregnancy. He has never seen my son, doesn't pay maintenance and is not on the birth certificate. My partner now has been with me since my 20 th week of pregnancy and has bought my son up as his own. We are now married and he would like to adopt him. Do we need to contact biological father ?

Yes. In fact you made this harder by leaving the bio father off the birth certificate. The court hearing the adoption petition will require that the bio father be identified and contacted to agree to the adoption. If he refuses, the court may deny the adoption.
You NEED an attorney to prepare the adoption petition. Start shopping around for one to explain all that you need to do. |
