Unexplained burning scratches appearing out of nowhere, mirror and possible demons?
Hi, I actually have a really weird situation where I acquired this old dresser mirror from my grandma last year and there was nothing apparent as far as paranormal until I started getting really strange mood swings and then one night I started getting these burning scratches all over my body. My husband was making sure it wasn't my fingernails or his, and even checked my couch, bed, and clothes. As he was examining me he saw three scratches show up out of no where. We have no pets and I am extremely hypersensitive. I had a gut feeling it was something to do with the mirror. I did some research on the burning scratches (like cat scratches) and of course I made myself paranoid because people have said it's a demon, and if I say his name or even think about him it gives him power. So I sent the mirror back to my grandmothers house. Two weeks ago I got the mirror back. I didn't think anything about it at all. I actually forgot about what had happened last year. Last week I started getting a sickening feeling like something unnatural was around me. We have a vintage Ouija board from 1972 we bought at a rummage sale. I thought it might be that, so we threw it out. (Still not thinking anything about the mirror, it's been sitting in my living room because its too heavy to hang up and its also turned backwards and forgot about) I still had a weird gut feeling something was a little off, tonight the scratches started to appear out of no where. My husband checked me again and he started seeing them pop up everywhere! I have them now on my left buttocks and down my left leg then he watched them pop up around my neck and on my left shoulder. We started thinking back to when this had happened before and he looked right at the mirror and said "Is that the same mirror?" I froze... It even took me a minute to think about if it was the same mirror or not, and we looked at old pictures on Facebook, and it was. The mirror is now outside on my porch, and the scratches have now stopped. I don't know if this really ties in and I'm a little frightened and confused. I would like to know if anyone has any ideas on what I'm dealing with and what would be the best disposal of this so-called "haunted mirror"? Thanks for taking your time to read my story. Christine

I would have to say, since the mirror is outside and you have had no re-occurrence of the scratches, get rid of the mirror, destroy it totally if you truthfully think this ishappening because of it.
I am sorry to say, and the paranormal is of interest to me and some others on this site, but scratches don't appear instantly out of no where, and demons don't occur out of nowhere as you possibly think one is attached to the mirror alone.

Actually I am dealing with another individual that has a piece of "haunted" furniture as well. It happens. Spirits really would prefer to attach to people, but many times it is a piece of furniture or some other article. It's really no different than haunting a house. If you really do have a spirit, it is not human. What you would be dealing with would be demonic.
If you feel everything has subsided with removing the mirror I would suggest getting rid of the mirror. I don't feel that is necessary... just like moving out of a haunted house isn't necessary... but sometimes it is the easier path. If you would like to keep this thing you need to contact a church... any denomination will work so long as they believe and understand what the Bible really says about spiritual warfare. Hope this helps... do keep us updated about it.

I wish I could agree with the fact that scratches don't appear out of no where... my husband and I both witnessed the scratches appearing on my stomach and then just a few days ago my neck, my husband is quite a skeptic but we stood in our kitchen and they came up like a rash I'm dead serious, and it wasn't like a horror movie "help me" scratch but it was there and I wish I could be making this up... and as far as demons go I'm not Christian so demons and angels and all that make no sense to me...

Thank you both for giving me some insight... I am getting rid if the mirror. I believe we are all apart of the same thing kind of like how the boson partial explains, but why if there were such demons or evil entities, be hiding in mirrors, and why can't they do more than scratch me? (I guess they are messing with our heads a little too) I am curious on how they could do it and why... like I said before I am somewhat of a mystic and I'm hypersensitive when it comes to all things paranormal (my great grandmother use to read palm and tarot/runes) but as far as demons go... I'm just baffled I guess lol

Demons can cause more than just scratches. When you question WHY spirits do some of the things they do we simply don't have a lot of answers for that. There are always going to be unknowns in this subject. And whether someone is a Christian or not makes no difference on whether they really exist. They don't have to make sense to exist. They don't make sense because they are not part of this world... so their entire existence and operation is outside of what we understand as normal.
