Assalaamwaliakum, I was terribly assaulted by my husband for the reason I disobeyed him for not live our 1 year child with his widow mother in absence of my husband as he stay in abudhabi for his work. ( I stay with my parents in absence of my husband) My husband used abused words and assaulted me and also my parents. My husband has even not paid my Mehar as 3 years have already passed for our marriage, even though his earning is good.

For this reason made a police complaint( 8 months ago) against my husband and my husband was behind the bar for 4 days. Later on I withdrew the case in the court, Now the situation got settled. But even today my husband blame me that what I had done was wrong. Please tell me whether my husband is right?

I am a non-Muslim American and I think your husband is very wrong. You should be able to be with your parents when he is away. In many cultures, this sort of dispute (usually which family to go to for holidays) is settled by a tradition of going to each place every other time.
But you need responses from the Muslim community here. And if the law of your country allows your parents to sue him for the Mehar, I hope they do, especially if they paid for the wedding.

This is an international site, In American, this is not right and he should have went to jail.
