Unless it was done on a mobile phone, and not put under real estate, you don't have another post here. I checked under your user name and there is no other post but this one.
I don't know when you posted or thought you posted somethng else. All of the experts here do this in their spare time, on lunch hour, after work, and so on, so it can take several hours, if not even a day or two for the right expert to see your post
For example, I am on Lunch break here in China, we break from 12 noon to 2:30 every day. So that is why I am on line now.
Please repost your question I do not know where it may be.

Hello and thank you. I don't know if you can help me. I live in New Jersey, USA. I worked hard all my life. Paid God knows how much in taxes to my government. Had my life savings snatched from me by my ex wife. I'm living month to month. I'm in a roommate situation.
My landlord wants me out in 7 days. A cop came and told me to get out in 7days too. I'm no criminal. This cop told me to go sleep on a park bench if I have to but pack a bag and leave. This is BS.

What do you mean by roommate situation? Are you subrenting from your roommate, or living with your landlord?
Has your landlord given you a formal, written notice to quit? Are you behind on your rent? And why did the cop get involved? Is there a court order or a suggestion of domestic violence involved?

I have two private rooms and bathroom. I share the homeowners kitchen with her. I smoke weed occasionally for my anxiety as it is not narcotic like benzodiapines are. She asked me to stop months so I complied. She's accusing me of not complying and this is the problem. I offered the officer to search my rooms but he didn't. I'm on a month to month with no lease. Last month she asked me to sign an agreement to pay rent on time, no illegal drugs and such. I signed it with no problem. I have completely complied with it. Not only did she want me out next morning but so did this fine officer. I convinced them to give a few more days and I'm now having to live into a gang ridden neighborhood as I can't find anyplace else to go. Motels are to expensive for me. This is breaking me down mentally and my anxiety is almost more than I can handle. Why is the law who's supposed to be protecting me doing this? I'm a family man. Recently divorced and going through an extremely rough time in my life and she knows that. I'm being intentionally harmed and I need legal recourse. Sorry so long. Frank

No written notice was offered to me. All verbal except the agreement. I pay rent in cash. She promised me receipts but never gave them to me. Paid 800 per month.

As far as I know, she has to give you a 30-day written notice that she wants you out of there, before she can go to court to get you ordered out.

A bit more background. I'm no expert but I'm very well versed on mental illness. This woman exhibits classic symptoms of bipolar disorder. I've even spoken to her for hours on end while she's depressed and try to calm her when she's manic. I've even hugged her in occasion when I was worried harmay harm

That she might harm herself. I almost called an ambulance the day she asked me to leave as she was so out of control. I thought she was going to strike me. I tried to explain this to the police but they didn't seem to care at all. She did at one time tell me how politically connected she was in the community and I feel I'm being railroaded...

Ok, The law isn't doing this. Both your landlord and this cop seem to be acting in contradiction to the law. You are in one of the best states to be protected. NJ is tenant friendly. NJ law makes it hard to evict someone, though since you are essentially a boarder, it may be possible that the law doesn't specifically apply to you. However, I believe a Housing court will side with you since the spirt of the law is being violated. Tell your landlord that she has to give you 30 days written notice specifying the reason for ending your tenancy. And if that cop comes again, tell him he needs to learn the law. Tell him to read N.J.S.A. 2A:18-61.1. He has no jurisdiction here.
This site should help: http://www.nj.gov/dca/divisions/code...ti_bulltin.pdf
We also have a NJ Real Estate attorney who participates here. Hopefully she will come along soon and correct me if I'm wrong.

This is NOT your concern and should not be brought up. The fact is she is your landlord and has some rights. You need to find a new place since you clearly cannot stay where you are, but she has to go through the proper process, you can't be put out in just a week without written notice.

She hasn't given me any 30 day written notice but like I said, I was ordered verbally to vacate by a police officer. I'm pretty sure this is illegal. Not that I want to stay here but I need more time. Not only am I planning to contact a local lawyer to Sue for this ridiculous burden she heaped upon me but I do believe this officer is way out of bounds and deserves to be disciplined for his actions against me.

The only problem that I can see with the officer is that, depending on what she may tell him, he may determine that he has cause to arrest you. Hard to say, since we are only "hearing" your side of it, but that's a possibility.

I agree with AK. Without knowing the full story of what she told the officer, you tread dangerous ground by going after him.
I gave you links that should give you the ammunition you need to get more time. Your landlord obviously doesn't know the law. Now you do.

Thank you so much all of you for your kind help. I realize there are two sides to every story but what I wrote here is the exact truth what happened. Thx also for the links. I don't want to stay here another day as I'm stressing so bad so buying time is irrelevant. At this point I'd rather live with the crypts and bloods then to spend anymore time being harassed by the law here. I can't believe this. Thx again for everything.

Here's a good one for you. 5 minutes ago I had three, yes three police officers here telling me to vacate the premises asap including a seargent! What the hell is going on here! They were very threatening to me. Talking like I was some kind of criminal. Telling me I can't smoke cigarettes now. I mean. Is this harassment or something? I really don't understand this. I'm not one to flaunt the law but really now. I'm going to have a friggin nervous break down over this. Is this woman really connected? I don't understand.

I would say yes.
What did you do? What I would have done is ask for the names and badge numbers and show them that you were writing them down. Then tell that, that, according to NJ law 2A:18-61.1, to be evicted you need to be given proper written notice and the landlord needs to get a court order.
If you have their names, I would contact the Town attorney and file a complaint. But I strongly suggest that when you move, you move out of the Town's jurisdiction.
