    Zoellor grinder pump not working
I have a zoellor grinder pump that is not working. I had removed the unit out of the pit, thinking something was stuck in it. There is nothing stuck. Now I turn the pump on and the pump just makes a "brrrppp" sound then nothing, then it will do it again and the grinder will not spin.
    Please help

    Hi Bill

To start, make sure that when you lift the float arm you hear the pump engage. It sounds like the float arm/switch works or you wouldn't get the "brrrppp" sound you mentioned.

Thereafter, If the impeller spins freely unplugged and then when you plug the pump in and lift the float arm and the impeller doesn't spin freely then the pump is shot!

I'd replace it with another zoeller unit... still the best on the market!

Does this sound like gears grinding? When that happens does the impeller try to spin? Let me know, Tom

Thank you for answering the question. The pump was shot. I took it to an authorized repair shop today.

    Hi Bill

Thank you for taking the time to post on the result... :)

If you don't mind, I would be curious to know how much it costs you to repair the pump as a new pump is a pretty reasonable cost in most cases, so I'd love to know what your people charge to repair a yucky, old pump.

In my area, it would cost you more to repair it than it would cost to buy a new one! Let me know if you get a chance, O.K?

    Thank you very much!
