My FHP geothermal system took a dump on me the other day, but thankfully with a little help from a friend in the business I tracked down the problem to simply being the ECM module that sits off the backside of the blower motor housing. My system works fine, just that the blower motor isn't working. The motor spins freely by hand and doesn't get hot when it's called to be on, so I am assuming the motor itself is good. When I took off the module there was some condensation inside of it, which is apparently a no no. So now I am looking for a new ECM, mine is marked "GE ECM MTRS ECM 2.3 by regal-beloit DG02 3/4hp 120/240V built 02/17/06". My local HVAC guys are pretty much clueless. I am not sure whether a ECM module with the same specs but potentially different make will work, might there be specific programming for my unit or do they all within the 2.3 series work the same way?
Any help would be appreciated.
