We have an old mobile home and Im trying to replace my plastic water lines in the bathroom. The problem is I bought braided metal replacement lines and Im trying to hook them to plastoc fittings on the existing bathroom faucet. Is this a good idea? We tried twice to hook them up but thjier leaking at the top where the plactic and metal fitting come together. Should I replace the faucet with metal threaded attachments for them to work properly and not leak Or am I missing something?

I cannot exactly picture what you are dealing with - but, the braided lines should fit. It seems to me the problem you have is with the plastic part. Make sure the attachment that connects those two is not damaged and correct size... back to you.. Milo

I too have problems knowing where the leak is occurring. Sounds like it is where the braided supply lines connect to the faucet.

Should not have difficulty because braided supply lines use "O" rings and washers.

There are two types of braided supply lines one for toilest and one for faucets. Connections should not take much more than hand tight to seal.
