    How do I begin to release ex of rights and let soon-to-be husband have rights?
    My ex is allowing to sign over rights, but how do I go about getting thisa done? My soon to be husband will take over rights.. how do I get this started...

    Your "soon to be husband" can ADOPT the child when he is your REAL LEGAL husband.

    In the US your "ex" cannot "sign over rights." Someone has to be legally responsible for supporting the child and it's both parents until adoption puts another parent in the place of one of the original two.

    I don't know what "allowing to sign over rights" means.

    Are you not in the US?

    Perhaps not. In the present time, the word has come to be equivalent to "domestic partner". :)

    Once the marriage has occurred, see an attorney about a step-parent adoption.
