Hello all,

I'm living in a family where my mum has to make every disecion for me.. I'm not allowed to see my friends.. she goes through my personal stuff and searches for clues.. I have a guy who I love so much and we are so serious.. I'm an engineer and he's studying law.. we are the same age.. I will soon apply for masters and continue since I'm not allowed to marry him yet.. but I'm so sad I can't even meet him.. we''re from different countries but he did everything to convince them but my mum is so superficial and she wants a powerful guy with tons of money to be my husband.. in my country I can't leave or do anything without my parent's permission.. and I'm so desperate I'm so in love with this guy I can't just move on and so is he.. no matter how much I tell mum or no matter how much I'm sick cause of everything or tired she just makes me feel bad everyday and calls me bad names and curses me... I dono't know what I can do.. nothing is working at all.. it's like I'm living but not alive in the same time since another person is taking control over my life..

Well one of these days, your mom has to get over the fact that you're an adult now and you will be making your own choices in life. It's your life. Family is very important but your life is twice as important. You're an adult now so you should be able to legally do what you want to. I'm not saying to disobey your mother but you need to have a serious talk with her. If you're still living with her then you need to move out and start your life.
