Well... my boyfriend smokes too much... and when I asked him to quit smoking, he lied to me that he does not smoke anymore! He lied to me four times about this smoking thing! I found out that he was lying, when I was just going through his mobile inbox (I just do it to annoy him and not because I suspect or anything like that). There was a message which he has send his friend, requesting her to lie to me if in case I ask her if he smoked at the party! I' am really worried about his health and about him lying to me about this! Are there any tips which I can follow to help him quit smoking? And why did he lie to me so much?

Well, if you want to guarantee he will continue to smoke, keep on checking up on him and driving him nuts with your obsessive poking at him.

Only he can decide to quit. You can't make him do anything.

The moment you rush us to do something we don't want is when you start getting lied to, remember that for the future.

You can't make anyone do anything, smoking is something that one must want to do on his/her own, there is no way to manipulate someone into doing so unless you are a big time user of neuro-linguistic programming or NLP. But that takes years to accomplish, either you like him as is or you can choose someone who doesn't bring as much or any smoke around you.

Yeah, apply the pressure and stress and constantly remind him and batter him. Yeah, that the ticket. That is-if you want him to smoke a pack before and after he sees you, and maybe another pack in between. Would work just as well as preaching to an alcoholic about the evils of drinking.
Get him to see some professionals.

Yup, or find someone else who doesn't smoke.

You can not make him quit, you can force or make him lie to you. Works on smoking, drinking, masturbation, porn, all of those things many guys do.

You fuss, he lies to make you stop fussing.

Wait till he chnges or accept him that way... we are in a relationship for two years so its hard to leave him
