The only reason a D & C was done was because you were miscarrying. Been there, done that, and it's not an abortion.
That's what I was looking for - not sure if OP knows.

    Yes, also been there.

Tickle "got it" in #14 above.

Because she seemed resistant to wanting to have it put in her file for why her pregnancy test came back positive. I was wondering if it was illegal where she was and that was why.

I thought her question was whether she could pass the pre-employment physical. I don't see a concern about info on her permanent record. I'm reading: "I know that my pregnancy tests will show possitive for a while, but I got a job that requires me to do a pregnancy test. What can I do? I need to work and the test have to be done before I start working less than a month from now?"

    What am I missing?

I don't see any resistence or reluctance on her part - "Because she seemed resistant to wanting to have it put in her file for why her pregnancy test came back positive."

She wants the job. She can't get hired if she is (or tests indicate she is) pregnant. That's how I'm reading this.

She knew she was not going to pass it. Her question was what she could do about it.

To answer your question quite simply, you have an ultrasound done and provide the results to your employer.

Is there a rule of thumb concerning how long a blood test would come back positive when you are no longer pregnant?

    I can't find that info.

Onligcanhelp - are you concerned about testing positive and not being hired or testing positive and that will appear on your employment record?

It depends on how far along the patient was when she miscarried. The OP in this case had a miscarriage.

My concern is not being able to go in August as opposed to 7 or more months from now. I have obligations that needs immediate attention

I understand - well, hopefully you can pass and get your dream job.

I don't think there's anything else anyone can say and J9 makes a good suggestion - an ultrasound would end all guessing.

No, if you read back, her abortion was not illegal where she is from; her job requires that she not be pregnant when she starts employment (it is on a cruise ship, so you can see why an employee can't be pregnant). Right now if she had a pregnancy test, it will come back positive as it has only been six days since the abortion; her body is still in pregnancy mode.

I know its not illegal I was the person who asked the question. I suggested that she show them proof that she isn't pregnant and have it put in her record if it the pregnancy test happened to come back positive.

Okay everyone, let's not hijack the thread.

The question has been answered, the OP is no longer online. Let it be, okay? There are other questions that need answering, and some of the posters are very impatient for an answer, so let's hop to it.

Big smiles everyone, like you mean it. :)
