    How do I install a light fixture with only black wire?
    I bought a new light fixture with only a black wire and ground. How do I match the wires to the ceiling?

    You don't. If the fixture has only one wire it is defective. Return it.

    Agreed, you don't. Any fixture needs at least two wires plus a ground.
    Something is amiss.

    What color is that ground, white? If so that's not a ground but a neutral.
