    Puppy chasing cat and jumping/nipping
Hello! I have 11wk old puppy who is chasing the inside cat. My inside cat is recovered feral but still a little stand offish with new things--especially super active puppies. I currently have my cat on Anxiety treats and am using the plug in Comfort zone.

2nd problem--our puppy likes to nip at your fingers, feet clothes face; anything she can get. I tell her No, I say No Bite and shake a can with pennies in it and then I give her a toy she can chew on and give her a love when she is chewing what she is suppose to. When we walk sometimes she runs around our feet, jump up and bite at anything she can. I tell her down, I tell her no or I ignor her. Nothing works. She often barks at me during both these situations.

    HELP!

If a cat runs, a dog will chase. Doesn't matter the breed of dog, they will still chase. Both need to get use to each other. Let your cat spank the puppy. Your puppy needs to learn her boundaries, too.

At 11wks, you should start introducing obedience. I don't recommend that you go to an actual class until the puppy has had all 3 sets of puppy shots. However; you can start talking to trainers and maybe even have an at home lesson.

All the problems you are having are just the normal, regular symptoms of owning a puppy. Correcting her and telling her no is the best way to teach her right from wrong. Stand your ground and no means no when it comes to the biting and nipping. If you feel like you are being to harsh, just keep in mind the behaviors you are dealing with now will only become worse the older she gets. So maybe a little too harsh is a good thing. Am I saying to go slap your dog around? No, of course not.. but when you say "no bite"... you mean "no bite".

    Good luck!

If there is an empty room in your house use it as a play and time out room if your puppy does something bad put them in the room so they have something to chew and jump on.they puppy just wants to play when they bark they are saying I have to use the bathroom,I'm hungry or play with me your puppy wants to play so use your extra time and play with them
