Can I divorce by just leaving?
I want a divorce from my husband but he says he won't sign papers, and he won't go to court. My parents love my husband and don't love me. They have told me they will end the relationship with me if I divorce him, but I don't love him. I recently became Muslim and have fallen in love with a Muslim man who I want to marry. According to my Imam, my marriage is not valid anyway because it is missing 2 out of 3 things needed to be legal in Islam. I can't go to court, and can't afford an attorney. I just want to leave and never look back. What can I do?

Yes, where, if you are in the US for example, you are under STATE law, not Islamic law and you will have to divorce in court.

I find it shameful that any religious leader would be OK with leaving your husband to go to another man.
