Dr. Bill... need help ETG TEST and clearance
Dr. Bill, I am trying to stay sober, but still, on occasion have had slip ups. I drank Sat and have told my family and AA friends, but am trying to avoid the probation consequences if possible.

My situation is... I had 2 standard drinks at about 6-7am Sat Morning and then between 9pm and 12pm, I had one shot of 60 proof (not 80) liquor, 3 3.2% gas station beers and finally a beer at a restaurant with my hot wings (that last was at midnight).

When do you think I'd be clear. I have to take a UA today, Monday. I can take it at my regular place (probably 500ng) or wait to take it at a place that is open 24/7 as long as I take it today, however, I don't know what the cutoff is there. If I go to the other place I'd take it around 11pm.

I've been very active ever since drinking. Lot's of liquids too.

I simply can't decide what to do! Any guidance or advice would help much. Thanks.

Can't advise as to action you should take but can provide elimination if you provide: Gender, height, weight. What was size of beer at restaurant?

    Thanks Dr Bill,
I'm male, 155lbs, thin, and in good shape. I'm not positive what size the beer was, probably a 16oz.

Also I've only slept a few hours, so I've been awake, working a lot. Does that mean my metabolism has been up and a possible shorter clearance time. I've also been drinking a ton of liquid and exercising a lot Sunday and today.

    Thanks much!

Your metabolic rate is far down the line in calculation. Liver enzymes are the pre-eminent factor.

Whether last drink or BAC=0 is used is determined where you fall on the chart. Because of the staggered drinking pattern your BAC would have been negligible at any point during the day so I used 40 hours from last drink.

All total through the day you had right at 6 standard drinks (US). In total that is 1.19 g/kg of body weight, but it was in 3 separate doses. Very difficult to calculate because of the pacing.

I think you will be clear but it is possible that you could still have detectable EtG, particularly at 100ng cutoff. The water probably influences clearance as EtG is water soluble.

Interesting. Please let us know the result.
