Benefits for a child whose parent is on disability
I have a friend who recently began receiving disability checks. He also continues to pay child support. His daughter to whom he pays child support is also receiving her own disability checks. Should he still be paying separate child support? Shouldn't the child receive monies from the state due to her father's disability. The state takes out the child support of almost 240.00 each month leaving him with only 773.00 per month to live on. He lives in Ohio. Is this proper procedure? Please advise and thank you very much in advance for any help you can give me.

Are you saying the child will receive 50% of what you re cieve each month out of your benefit or the child is intitled to 50% of what you receive for the child it self
