    Ownership of property
My mother is in a Nursing home with dementia and owns half of the family home as a tenant-in-common. My father died and left his half share equally between myself and 2 sisters. My mother's and the three sisters' names are registered at the Land registry as owners of the property. My elder sister and I wanted to let the property to offset care costs. My younger sister wanted to sell it. I am a Deputy by way of the Court of Protection for my mother but only in respect of renting the property. My younger sister has now put her own property up for rent and wants to move into the family home. What rights does she have and what rights do we have?

Laws are set by state ( in the US) and normally national law in other nations, so where you are at makes a difference.

If you have been appointed to the court to "rent" the property, you would have to agree to who can move in.

You may have to go back though the courts to get permission to sell.
