    Property Ownership
    My stepfather and I are joint owners of the home where he lives, he and my mother who is recently deceased, were 50% owners together with me. Now how can I own it completely when he dies?

    How is title listed EXACTLY? Is it Joint owners with right of survivorship or what? How was it listed before your mother died?

    No it's not Joint owners with right of survivorship
    The quitclaim dated 9/10/01, states that Grantors, Mr. & Mrs. husband and wife, to Grantees, Mr. & Mrs. husband and wife, Me, a married woman.

    That the Grantors for and in consideration of the sum of $10.00 in hand paid by said Grantee, thr receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, does hereby remise, release and quit claim unto said Grantee and Grantee's heirs, successors forever, all right, title, interest, claim and demand which the said Grantor has in and to the following described lot, piece or parcel of land, situate, lying and being in County of

    Execute a new quit claim that transfers title to dad and you as JTWROS.

    Its QUIT Claim. It would best to have it prepared by an attorney or title company.
