Im trying to wean my kitten off wet food to the dry he is extremely picky I've tried to mix the wet with the dry. Crush the dry food and mix it with water to make an oatmeal-like goop. Gradually add less and less water over a few weeks of feedings and crush it less and less fine. Make sure the kitten WANTS that flavor. Smelly fishy dry food is more fun than a boring beef flavor.

Ives tried 3 different dry foods but I'm on a slightly limited budget so I have been trying to get "donations" or find pet stores that have samples for dry food to see if there may be one he likes and so far he refuses to touch any he loves the wet food I bought though

Well, he is still very young. I'm thinking that when his permanent teeth come in, he might be more inclined to eat dry food. We keep a bowl of it available at all times as snacks for our four cats. Our local cat shelter does the same thing.

I leave a bowl out as well but he will starve himself if I don't provide wet food or his bottle I found that out on accident I gave him a bottle in the morning and I was out of wet food and I went to the store to get some (im on the public bus so it takes FOREVER to do anything) and something came up so I ended up out of the house much longerd than expected and when I finally did get home I made a bottle (he ate the whole bottle) and I put out a lottle wet food and he ate abouth half

Let him grow up a bit more and get his permanent teeth. He normally would be nursing and with his mom, with nibbles of wet kitten food and not dry yet. Dry food nuggets are almost as big as he is and are hard to crunch and even fit in his mouth!

Did you read the link I posted? At 6 weeks of age, your kitten is still too young to go completely to dry food. That's why I posted the link, so that you'd read it and realize that it's still a bit early for this.

    Please read the link.
