    My Puppy Is Very Picky
I'm 14 years old and my family and I just got a Long-Haired Daschund Named "Piccolo".

Piccolo is wonderful and happy all the time.

Piccolo used to eat his food and lick the bowl clean but now he only eats a little and then goes under our table waiting for food to fall from my 4 year old brother.

We've tried putting him in a pen when we eat so he can't get tempted to go under the table and wait for my brother to spill his food.

Well, We have been feeding Piccolo "Natures Choice" Is there any other kind of food I should give him or add something?

He is also a smart puppy who has learned people food tastes great. He also knows where it will land on the floor. Natures Choice is fine for him but you need to avoid the table scraps, it becomes a hard habit to break.

You need to go to https://www.askmehelpdesk.com/dogs/i...tml#post254171 In the second paragraph, I address the picky eater. What you are feeding likely is fine, just a little less of it. Most chows are carefully formulated to give dogs the complete and balanced diet they need. Adding anything will just mess up the careful balance. Removing him from the table while your brother eats was a good idea. Continue it.

You may find other sections of the sticky helpful too. Post back if you have questions on any details.

You also may notice that he will try to "hold out" for the people food by not eating his dog food making you think he doesn't like it. Don't worry, he will not starve himself!

When is a puppy not a puppy anymore? [ 3 Answers ]

Our Lhasa is now 10 months old. As a puppy we have had food available pretty much at all times, but maybe he's getting past that now, and for his weight should maybe only be fed about a cup to a cup and a half of his dog meal a day. We have been using Wysong, by the way, and it seems to have a...
