    How do I dismount the unit from the ceiling - southwind ceiling fan
    I need to remove a southwind ceiling fan from the ceiling but I can see what ring etc needs to come off

    At the ceiling, there may be a plastic ring that covers the screws, see if you can turn counterclockwise from below to loosen.

    Having no idea what a southwind fan looks like I'd need a pic to know what's what.
