    How do I convince my mum to allow me to get a tongue piercing?
    Hi.. so I'm nearly 19 and I already had a tongue piercing done last year at my dad's but when I came back my mum kept nagging me to take it out and so I did.
    But now a couple of months later I want to get it done again unfortunately she won't allow me to have it done. I know some of you will say that I'm an adult and I shouldn't ask her and just go and have it done, but I don't want to get it behind her back I don't like the idea of that . Well the thing is how do I persuade her to let me get it? I would appreciate if you could send me messages. Thanks all for your answers. Xx

    I doubt you can, so your choice is to get it done and listen to her complain.

    I have to agree with Chuck. I don't think you'll convince her, and there's really no magical way to do so.

    So you have two choices, don't get one, or realize that you're an adult and you can make your own choices.

    It is true that, as Alty said above, you are an adult and you can make your own decisions. But I understand that you don't want to upset your parents; because you don't want them to look at you in a different way.
    It probably won't be easy to "convince" her... The only thing you can do is try to let her understand who you are and what you like. People are all different; sometimes parents can't understand why or how we like something they don't (in your case, the tongue piercing). The only thing you can do is try to talk to her, like adults (that you already are). Try to make her understand that that is what you want, and that is who you are; and that it doesn't make you a bad person, and doesn't "label" you.
    Maybe your mom thinks that it's just a "phase". And if that is so, I seriously recommend you to talk to her about it; if you really are determined about doing it.

    I agree with chuck too. You are an adult and make your own decisions. To not lie to her tell her you are getting it. No since in lying about it. All she can do is get mad. While I respect you for wanting her blessing to do so "You are in fact an adult".
