Should I lie about being soul mate?
My husband was talking about couples who are soul mates, and I'm pretty sure he wanted me to say we were soul mates, but, to me, we are not. I know he feels that way about me, but I do not feel like he's my soul mate at all. Do I tell him we are soul mates, to make him happy, or do I tell the truth and tell him we are not, but say we are still happily married--which is the truth?

I would say yes.. If the topic ever comes up again tell him that he is saying that he isn't regardless of your happy marriage would break his heart unnecessarily and could ruin the trust in your marriage most likely if you tell him what he wants to hear he will never bring it up or ask you about it

Never lie. Lying has a snowball effect and continues to grow until you can no longer maintain the lie.

Is it because you're not as happy as you could be, or, you just don't believe in "soul mates".

I would say that you are soul mates you are married so you must love him? Is this not what soul mates are? Why would you marry someone you don't love anyway?

Maybe your idea of a soul mate is different than his, but I fail to see what your objection to him being your soul mate is. He probably will be as confused as I am, and more hurt. If he feels it's a lie, then that adds to the hurt.
