Here's whirlpool valves. You should be able to find it at a local parts place.

    Good luck

Do you think it is the valve rather than the solonoid, where on the washer would I find it. Thanks

This could also be the washers pressure switch and/or the water level switch.

This is the diaphragm when one of the orifices is stopped up. It's easy to clean with Lime Away.

The hot and cold solenoid valves are at the water inlet.
If 120 volts is NOT present at the solenoid coil, the valve should close.

Unplug washer and see if water still runs, if so, then do the following: unplug unit and turn off water. Disconnect water hoses from solenoids and pull machine out where you can get at it. Then, remove the back where you will see the water solenoid valves. Mark the wires, then remove the valves. Take an ohm meter and check across the two terminals on each valve and from each terminal to ground. You should always read nothing to ground and 2-3000 ohms across the terminals. Next, remove solenoid coils and set aside. Carefully take out the screws and you will see: A needle valve and spring in each of the stems that go into the coils, a diaphragm that you should take note of how it is installed. Soak all of this in Lime Away for an hour or so, then clean the parts with water and an old toothbrush. Look at the holes in the brass orifices and make sure they are clear. Make sure screens are clean where hoses connect at water inlet. Reassemble. It should work fine now as long as you put it together right. Alternatively, you can just buy a new valve.

Unplugging washer as drtom mentions, to see if the water stops is a fast easy way to see if the valve is stuck open.

Whirlpool washer [ 1 Answers ]

I went to put my laundry into the dryer but the washer had not spun the water out or done the rinse cycle. It does agitate but when I put it on any of the spin cycles it just sits there. Any ideas if this is something I can fix myself or should I buy a new one. This washer is less than 5 years...
