    Banging hot water pipe
    Hi
I recently had a new combi boiler fitted in an older property after a problem with the old system.

The hot water pipes have started banging, once when you turn the hot tap on and again when you turn it off. Do you think it may be possible that this something we might be able to repair ourselves or will we have to pay someone to come in ? If we could do it ourselves please could you give me some advice.

    Many thanks for your help

The first thing I would do is install a expansion tank on the hot water side to act as a shock absorber(air chamber). Good luck, Tom

Pipe banging other than water hammer? [ 3 Answers ]

Hi there, Recently the pipes in our house have started banging. My initial thoughts were loosely hanging pipes or water hammer.
