    Sex after child birth
I just had a child on 2/7/2012. I waited until my 6 weeks before I started back having sex. My partner and I didn't use anything the first time but he pulled out and I went to the bathroom immediately. The next day I went and got a morning after pill to take. The next day we had sex again but this time we used protection but he took it off, but did pull out. So the next day I went and got another morning after pill. The following day I went to get on the depo shot. I am concerned that I may be pregnant because I spotted yesterday and have not seen any blood since, but I also took two home pregnancy tests and both were negative. Could I be pregnant or could the morning after pills and depo shots have my period acting like such? Please help me.

Taking two morning after pills esp in a row can have serious effects on your period and cycle.
No form of birth control is 100 percent even the morning after pills.

You will have to wait for about 4 to 6 weeks to test for pregnancy, you are likely not to have a period during that time due to the morning after pills. Now is it just a waiting game.

So what about the spotting I had last night and haven't seen anymore blood since?

Please beware of the old wives' tales around these two practices. "Pulling out" is not an effective form of birth control, since sperm is usually in the early fluids. A woman going to the bathroom after sex only empties her bladder, and does nothing to remove sperm from her vagina and uterus.

Yes, you could be pregnant, but using the morning after pill may have prevented it, and the pills and shot have messed up your cycle. Please keep an eye on things until you have a definite period -- and please let us know what happens.

    Could I be pregnant?
So what about the spotting I had last night, does that not mean I'm pregnant?

The chances of being pregnant are low, but there is still a chance. As was said, the morning after pills and the depo injection both can, and usually do, alter your cycle. The spotting is likely due to that.

Since the depo injection often results in irregular bleeding, you won't be able to use a lack of a period as a possible indication for pregnancy. For the peace of mind, you may want to try another pregnancy test in another week or two.
