I live in Edmonton, alberta Canada,
I am being charge with fraud under $5, 000, I have a student legal lawyer.
She suggested me to go for the alternative measures program, because I do not
Want a crinimal record. First time I went t o court I said I was not quilty. It was
Internet fraud, where someone gave m e a check because I ask for so me money.
The check was the bank no longer there . It is from the states, I sign the check but was not cashed.

Is it true I have to say I am guilty of this charge and do the alternative program and will not get a record. Because when I went to court 2 weeks ago I said I was not guilty.

I just don't want a record and if I did go on trial and lost I could get a record is that true? Thanks Ronnie e-mail [email protected]

Follow the advice of your lawyer.

You plead guilty, do the program and your record is erased.

Everyone pleads not guilty the first time, you would be stupid not to.

I will say I have not paid them back yet but am willing to do so. This is my first offfence and am wondering if they will put me in jail? I sure hope not. I am willing to do whatever itt takes so I do not end up in jail! I am very remoresful and am feeling awful for what I did. I am very very scared! As far as how much I took I am going to guess and say about $ 1000. I have mental health issues and was on medication during this so cannot remember doing this at all, and I know that is no excuse. I suffer with severe depression and get panic/ anxiety attacks quite often. I am under the care of a Pychatrist and Pyhcologist as well. Reply when you can. Thank You!
