    My thermostat won't tell the furnace to turn on...
    My thermostat won't tell the furnace to turn on. I have to turn down the temperature then turn it up again in order for the furnace to kick on..

    You may need a new t-stat, but I have never seen this happen in 35 years of doing HVAC work. You must have a problem elsewhere.
