How old are you right now? Actually an answer depends on that answer. As well as what country and state do you live.

Your Grandparents had custody at one time? Was there a Court Order granting them custody or did you mother simply sign over guardianship to them for a period? Where is also important - Country/State.
In general your Grandparents would have to go to Court and request custody of you - and if your mother doesn't want them to have custody your Grandparents would have to prove you are unfit. You would be able to tell the Judge your thoughts and feelings but they are not binding on the Judge.
Are there problems between you and your mother or your mother and your Grandparents?
(I was actually raised by Grandparents so I'm sympathetic.)

At thirteen you really don't have a say in this so your grandparents would have to hire a lawyer and pursue this in Court if your mom doesn't want to do it... and quite honestly... the odds of them getting it over your moms objections are very slim. And it will be expensive. Basically what JudyKayTee already said.

How are you planning on proving that? Because your word isn't good enough in court... anyone's word... you have to be able to prove it with evidence. The kind of evidence that is acceptable by the courts.
Those drugs and pills might be prescribed. Prescribed medications aren't evidence of anything wrong... also "she don't need me" also isn't an acceptable reason. Besides one that's going to be exceptionally difficult to prove anyway.
Just trying to point out that its not an easy thing to do. And those are just some of the hurdles you will have to jump just to start with.
Unless it can be proven she is a danger to your well being... the court usually assumes the birth parents to be more fit than a third party

So.. have you told your grandparents this yet? If not why? That would be a first step... they could get something going in conjunction with the police and CPS for temporary custody... if they do find these things. Again... just saying this means nothing... they would actually have to catch her with them.

Okay, I've got it - you are in a very unstable, unsafe environment, right? If your Grandparents (who would have to consent) talk to your mother would you mother sign over guardianship (which is probably what it would be) to them? If so it's an easy matter. If your mother won't sign guardianship over then your grandparents would have to be willing (and able) to fight her in Court and prove she has a dangerous lifestryle. That would involve drug testing, perhaps randomly.
Where does the situation stand between your mother and your grandparents? Would she agree?
