    Discolored skin on shoulder
I have a discolored patch on my shoulder. Sometimes its red and sometimes its just a shade darker then my skin tone. If I look at it from an angle it is shiny and doesn't look like the rest of my skin. It does not itch nor does it burn. I have tried lotion, thinking it was dry skin. I have tried cleansing it thinking it mite be a rash or something. It has spread to my other shoulder, my neck, and beside my breast. I can't get to the doctor for about 2 or 3 more weeks due to finances and I was just wondering if anyone else has ever had this? I can email a photo if you want.

Try googling tinea versicolor. Look at several sites because the quality of photos vary. I once had this. My daughter had it. Relatively easy and inexpensive to treat, if that's the problem.

I have a discolored tooth that my dentist says has been caused by nerve damage. Is it possible to reverse the discoloration? Also, I rinse my mouth with baking soda. Could that have caused the discoloration? Is there any danger in rinsing my mouth with baking soda?
