Hi,
I am looking for advice. My wife have and are experiencing some strange occurrences.
I am convinced my first wife has dabbled in the occult and she is a very spiteful and vindictive person. I say this as I suppose she might have a part to play.
My new wife and myself moved to the U.S. And bought a house. We soon experienced hearing a voice calling us by our names. It happened to me whilst in the shower, the voice was right on my left shoulder and in my ear, it made me jump, nobody there. When I was at work and outside on a calm day, it happened again, loud and clear, same voice, same shoulder. I was alone and it was very odd. My wife experienced her events mostly at home.
I saw a pebble that my wife had collected move along the top of the toilet cistern for about 9 inches and fall to,the floor.I could not repeat the event by flushing the toilet etc.
My wife was alone in the house in the kitchen and said she heard me come in through the front door and saw what she thought was me walk past the kitchen and into the living room. She left the kitchen to see what I was doing home. There was no one there.
We were in bed one evening and heard footfalls coming up the stairs. My wife said we had burglars, I leapt out of bed- armed, and waited by the door. Convinced it would open and a violent confrontation ensue. Time seemed to pass very slowly and nothing happened, although it was probably a few seconds elapsed. I plucked up enough courage to suddenly open the door and there was an empty landing.
Throughout our life together, at times my wife wakes sometimes screaming saying she can see- an old woman or man, a bundle of sticks floating at ceiling level(pre-Blair witch era) various coloured lights and animals.
I could go on and on.
I want to know what your opinion is on this type of thing. Should I be concerned about Demonic or Psychic attack or put it down to an over active imagination?
We have returned to the UK now and she still has the problems on some nights. I had experiences while working as a Prison officer and it just seems to continue.
I for one, would like to live in peace and want it to stop.

If you believe your ex is doing this, and you know she was involved in the occult, and IF you have had any threats from her, then all I can say is, the power of suggestion is enough to make you believe these occurrences are actually happening to you.

Counteract with your own power of suggestion for the both of you, wear crosses and keep a bible by your bed. I would say that would be enough to keep you safe.

Don't get me wrong, I am on the paranormal board as well as a couple of other experts in the field. Please don't be discouraged and stay tuned for 'hauntinghelper's' always succinct advice in these matters.

I cannot say for certain that this is all down to her influence. She did threaten to make the rest of my life a misery and consulted psychics and acquired books and occult paraphernalia. I do believe she played a part.
We have tried the protection route in general. It seems to work for a while. We have bought protective symbols in the form of jewelry, it always goes missing. It is there one day and gone the next.

Well I can only suggest going to a nearby church and ask to be blessed and to have someone to come to your home and bless it too.

Truthseeker, it's my understanding that your ex wife began dabbling in the occult simply to get back at you? Or was she involved in such things while you were together? This really could be several situations. There is the possibility that the home you moved into had a spirit(s) in it that really has nothing to do with your ex. But I know of many situations like this where one, invoking powers through the occult, could remotely torment and visit another. Now of course I cannot say for sure one way or another, this is the internet and we can only go by what you tell us. If something really seems to be telling you that your ex is involed, it IS a possibility.

Believe it or not, but the very charms and protections you are turning to for protection are also part of the occult. White or black, it all has the same source and that is what trips a lot of people up. In the subject of curses and related torments I take great comfort in a certain piece of biblical scripture found in Numbers 23:8. If you believe this really is a spiritual situation and truly want deliverance and protection from it, start reading there.

Numbers 23:8
How can I curse those whom God has not cursed? How can I denounce those whom the LORD has not denounced?

Your search should start there. Where does protection come from in these situations? God. To whom does this protection belong? Those that belong to God. Until you are under the Blood covering of Jesus Christ, you are vulnerable to these types of attacks.

Do you and your current wife hold any religious beliefs or practices?

First of all, Thank you for replying.
My ex wife was always terrified of the occult when we were together. Her interest only began after our divorce. As a result of thinking about writing these posts I have remembered an old acquaintance of mine who, if this is an occult matter, may have contributed to the events. At the time I was stupidly innocent of his behavior. I am now aware that he went through a very bad phase when he practiced black magic. Would Prayer be sufficient to protect us from such a person?

I understand the mistake regarding the jewelry and I no longer entertain these trinkets, but, my wife does.

As for our beliefs and practices, I firmly believe in God, and pray daily. My wife is of Native American heritage - apache Indian, to be exact. She was raised as a Southern Baptist. She has a more eclectic approach to spirituality, maybe this has some bearing on the issue. She is a good person and does not do anything occult, to my knowledge. The only aspect of her behavior then bothers me is that she likes some TV programs that I find disturbing such as Charmed, True blood and being human etc. I cannot abide these and have tried to persuade her to avoid them, to no avail.

Hopefully, this is imagination and mis-understanding. If not, I have taken comfort in scripture you highlighted and am researching more.

Truthseeker, wonderful response! I am glad you are still open to the fact that this may very well be imaginative. As I said before, there is noway anybody here can prove or disprove what you are experiencing and we can only give advice on what is told to us.

It's great to hear that you pray daily and I wish more people would realize it's importance. But if it is a legit remote spiritual attack, normal prayer may not be enough for you. Most people aren't aware that there are not only different kinds of prayers, but there are also right and wrong ways to pray! I feel that the protection you are desiring will not come from everyday "bless us Lord" type of praying but rather from a very authoritative and specifically direct sort of prayer. And this prayer really needs to come from someone who has had their born-again experience. If this is not you, I would suggest bringing in a priest or a pastor to help.
