Got in an argument with my step daughter about letting her 9 month old scream in his bed at 3 am for more than 10 minutes. I told her I thought she was doing harm to him and that she needed to comfort him. She disagreed with me packed a suitcase and said she was a piece of s**t mother and to take her kids she was leaving. She packed a suit case and left her 2 year old and 9 month old. She said she would be back to get them when she is stable and can care for them the way they need to be cared for. She has a lot of mental issues and needs therapy. Should I report this to the police?

How long has she been gone? To be brutally honest, letting a child cry for 10 minutes, even at 3 am, is no big deal, even for a 9 month old. Children have to learn to put themselves back to sleep.

First I will address the crying for 10 min, sorry that is how you teach kids to sleep at night and if it was 30 min, it is normal and how we on the board normally recommend. So you were wrong in talking to her about this.
